Silvia Carrus is an Italian digital Comics Creatrix.
The main aim of my work is to make people laugh, so it’s often about humour and alternates between fictional and non-fictional.
The subjects of my comics are usually animals or-and feminism, as occasionally I like to combine the two together.
I have been making comics about feminism for nearly a year now, and other than making monthly comics for feminist websites The F Word and Femsplain,
I have began self-publishing my feminist work with titles such as Feminist Cat and The Feminist Superheroes. Along with that, I have produced funny comics like Manly Men doing Manly Stuff and Butt Ghosts, where silly humour is the protagonist.
I have also taken part in various comics anthologies like Dirty Rotten Comics, Dirty Diamonds, Jack Sprat Press and more.
I regularly post one page comics on my Tumblr blog and table monthly at different conventions, fairs and festivals to share my work with various crowds around the UK.
My latest project is a comic series that I just started called The Feminist Superheroes, which is about a gang of friends, women of different sexualities and race, who team up to fight any gender issues and that try to help out fellow women in difficult sexist situations.
I have recently finished and printed the first issue, which debuted at Birmingham Comic Con in March 2016 and that is now available to purchase from my Etsy shop, while my next issue is due to come out sometime in the autumn 2016.
